Technology Plan
Technology is transforming the way we learn and work in the Saint Paul Public Schools. The past three years have resulted in development of a robust and stable data infrastructure largely due to the funding provided by the federal e-rate program. A web-based student information system, data warehouse and library system have been implemented district-wide. Teachers and administrators are beginning to analyze and apply data to improve instruction as never before possible. The majority of schools use Urban Planet software to promote their school programs on the web and parents are beginning to use SaintPaulLearns to view information about their childs attendance, grades, and homework assignments via the Internet. The next three years will bring continued emphasis on data-driven decision-making, parental communications, and staff development. A major hardware upgrade for existing business systems and an increased focus on using technology to improve student achievement will be significant initiatives during the next three years.
