2007-2008 Grades 3 - 6 Technology Integration Initiative
Attend workshops to learn new ways to take advantage of technologytools and resources to help you be more effective and more efficient. Expandthe use of technology in your classroom using an eMac computer and anLCDprojector. Further develop your skills in integrating technology intoteaching and learning with the help of your technology integrationcoach.

Participant Eligibility:

The 2007-2008 Initiative is available to full-time, regular education (grades 3-6) Saint Paul Public Schools classroom teachers. This year's cohort is limited to 25 participants.

Participants Will Receive:
Participants accepted into the Integration Initiative will receive use of a wireless computer with software and LCD Projector. Participants may keep this hardware and software package as long as they continue to meet the requirements of the Initiative (above). Participants will attend 11 hours of formal training and receive ongoing coaching of best practice use to integrate technology in the classroom.

Workshop Requirements:
Attend all required Integration Initiative training (specific dates and times will be available in PDExpress):
  • Workshop I: Orientation (3 hours on Thursday Sept. 27, 2007 at 4:15pm)
  • Workshop II: Choice of Topics (by November 1st, 2 hours, Dec 1st for the Oct 2007 group)
  • Workshop III: Choice of Topics (by February 15th, 2 hours)
  • Workshop IV: Choice of Topics (by April 30th, 2 hours)
  • Workshop V: Technology Showcase (May 28th, 2 hours)
Specific Requirements:
  • Complete the on-line application by end of day September 20, 2007.
  • Sign up to work with your coach in your classroom with your studentsfor a minimum of 4 periods on 4 separate days. These dates cannot becanceled, but may be rescheduled later if there's a conflict. This will be done at the orientation class. Bring your calendar!!
  • Participate in an online professional learning community. You'll be asked to submit a post and to reply to at least one post every month (Oct. - May).
  • Create and maintain your Urban Planet web page. If you haven't started your Urban Planet web page, you will need to do this by October 19, 2007.
  • Expand the use of technology in classroom setting, using computer and projector as presentation station and to demonstrate student learning.
  • Register for technology workshops and track attendance using PDExpress.
  • Maintain possession of Initiative resources. Equipment is checked out to trained participants only.  Giving away or loaning Initiative resources is not allowed.

Participation is limited to 25. Initiative registrations will be accepted until September 20, 2007.
