Getting Started with United Streaming
United Streaming is a digital video application that enables you to access video directly from your own computer.

The Saint Paul Public School District has purchased this tool for all teachers and students.

Step One: Get Set Up
Find out your passcode (your coach knows it) and register your username and password. Keep this simple and share-able. If you forgot your username and password from before, go to www.UnitedStreaming and click on the lost password link. They will email it to you.

If you're a MAC user, the first time you're in United Streaming click on the My Preferences link on the top-right hand of the page. Scroll to the bottom of the form and choose the Q for Quicktime and Standalone.

Step Two: Get Going
Enter your keyword into the search field and click Go. Look through he summaries of your results. Once you have made your selection click on the title to show the entire collection of clips.

For most video selections, you have the option of viewing the whole movie or only certain chapters. To play the clip, click on the S button, to Download it to your desktop, control-click on the D button. The A button is to add that clip to your playlist.

Step Three: Other Features
Playlist: This is similar to bookmarking a website. It allows you to pre-search for video segments and easily pull them up later. The playlist is saved on the UnitedStreaming server so any playlists created at home will be seen on your school computer.
Learning Resources: Theres a lot here but the part youll use most often is the calendar. This is like a Today in History section.

Step Four: Technical Tips
To enlarge the movie use the zoom feature on the LCD or on your MAC press apple-option and + to zoom (apple-option - to un-zoom). Consider purchasing speakers. Place the cursor on the play/pause button and use your remote to control it. Stop at important points, etc...
